Austin Studio Tour
I will once again be participating in the Austin Studio Tour WEST at my studio, ArtUs Co.
I will be debuting five NEW artworks, NEW silk scarves, as well as prints, cards, and more in the gallery, gift shop and my upstairs studio, #211.
The opening reception for the Collective Show will be on Friday, November 8th from 6-10pm at ArtUs Co.
We will be open Saturday, 11/9 from 12pm - 6pm and again on Sunday, 11/10 from 12pm - 6pm. Come and say hello to myself and all my all artist friends at ArtUs Co!

This year I will also be participating in the Austin Studio Tour EAST at Art For the People Gallery.
I have been accepted to be a part of their group show. The dates for EAST Saturday, 11/16 from 12pm - 6pm and again on Sunday, 11/17 from 12pm - 6pm. I will be at Art For the People on Saturday, 11/16 from 1-3pm.

Art Hop 2024, which will be held at the Georgetown Public Library and the San Gabriel Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall from October 4 through November 2.
My two artworks, Bold Accent and Flight of Grace, will both be on display at the Georgetown Public Library.
SPIN Festival 2024
The popular Silk Painters International Festival is back. A broad array of classes has been developed especially for the 2024 Festival. Join attendees from around the world with classes taught by expert, Silk Artist instructors.
Attendees/students will learn new approaches and enhanced techniques critical to creating silk art. This week-long learning experience was developed with both new artists and experienced artists in mind.

Brushstrokes on Silk: An Introduction to Creating Wearable Silk Art with Laura Fox-Wallis

Class Description: This one day silk painting workshop will give you a valuable foundation to begin your new obsession creating wearable silk art. Participants will also learn how to use marker as a resist to create beautiful designs. Patterns will be provided, however participants can choose their own image to work from.
This silk workshop, which uses non-toxic silk paints is simple enough for absolute beginners, yet is also an exciting way for more experienced painters to transfer their talents onto silk. Once the setting process is complete, participants will leave this experience with two beautiful, wearable silk artworks. This is a time to nurture your artistic side, all skill levels are welcome!
Topics Covered: Participants will focus on basic techniques and processes of silk painting. Various techniques such as salt, alcohol, resist, color mixing, and the flow of dye on silk will be introduced as you create an 11” x 11” and a choice of a 14” x 72” or 30” x 30” silk scarf.
Materials Needed: Apron, Old Clothes (the dyes stain), Disposable Gloves (optional). Bring your lunch or choose from one of the many available restaurants in the Arboretum.

This collection is so huge we're splitting it across two galleries! Each reception will be totally unique and curated with different decks on display.

This workshop is perfect to learn the basics of silk painting using MSP, Laura Fox-Wallis, Marker Resist Technique. In just a few hours, you will create your own wearable silk scarf from start to finish! Together, via zoom, Laura will instruct you on how to create a wearable 14” x 72” scarf detailing a gorgeous, brightly colored octopus. You will learn how to transfer the pattern, apply the marker technique, stretch the scarf, mix colors, and apply & set the dyes.
