Silk Painting Workshop with Laura Fox-Wallis

  • Georgetown Arts Center 816 South Main Street Georgetown, TX, 78626 United States (map)

This one-day silk painting workshop will give you a valuable foundation to begin your new obsession with creating wearable silk art. Participants will focus on basic techniques and processes of silk painting. Various techniques such as salt, alcohol, resist, color mixing, and the flow of dye on silk will be introduced as you create a 14” x 72” silk scarf detailing gorgeous, brightly colored shapes and textures. This resist technique, which uses permanent markers and non-toxic dyes is simple enough for absolute beginners, yet is also an exciting way for more experienced painters to transfer their talents onto silk. Once the setting process is complete, participants will leave this experience with beautiful, wearable silk art. This is a time to nurture your artistic side, all skill levels are welcome!

Please note that spaces are limited.
